I was surprised to see this because of all the stocking issues I’ve heard for the new Nikon bodies so I figured I’d spread the word. I’m told the stock is limited, so if you want one anytime soon, I’d say go for it.

Via the-digital-picture.com, Adorma has once again added a ton of great refurbed Canon items. Some notable items: 35mm f/1.4 L - $975, 50mm f/1.2 L - $1150, 200mm f/2.8 LII - $560, 400mm f/5.6 L - $949.95 and lots more. Get their quick because these things usually go pretty fast.
B&H Photo has the Canon 40D at the amazing price of $1149 for the body only. If you haven’t gotten one yet and aren’t waiting for the 5D successor, might be a good time to buy. Most likely the price is gonna jump back up after the holidays.
Via the flickr blog, your flickr account now has detailed stats for images and your photostream, with info such as referrers, so you can see where your photos are getting linked from.
Photo Business News & Forum has posted very thorough hands-on comparison of these two flagships. Weird barbie pictures aside, (follow the link, and you’ll see what I mean) this 12 part post does a great job of bringing out both the strengths and weaknesses of each body.
Okay Canon people. Thanksgiving is over. The present buying holidays are upon us. Know what I want to buy (for myself)? A Canon 5D Mark II. The rumors are really cute and all, but c’mon guys. Throw us a bone here… ![]()
From the feed readers this morning, Lightroom 1.3 has been released and includes additional camera support for the Canon 1Ds Mark III, Nikon D3, Nikon D300, Olympus E-3, among others as well as updated Mac OS X v10.5 Leopard support.
Though a bit different than the normal CameraPorn, I felt it necessary to point out a great article written by the amazing Jim Goldstein from JMG Galleries on his take on the Creative Commons copyright/license. Even though I feel a bit different than Jim on the issue, I am with him on many points, especially the conversations about flickr and I feel that this issue affects many loyal CameraPorn readers. As someone who has had images ’stolen’ before and was uneducated on copyrights and Creative Commons licenses, opinions aside, I wish I had had an article like this to read a long time ago to really break down what it all means into a digestable format. Check it out.
Hard drive getting full with all those pics? Lightroom not as snappy as it used to be? Scott Kelby over at Adobe Photoshop Insider just published a great article on optimizing your Lightroom and freeing up some extra disk space (he freed up 26 gigs!). Included are step-by-step instructions for several methods of keeping your lightroom catalog lean and mean. Check it out
