Via Rob Galbraith, Adobe has released a public beta of yours truly’s favorite photo editing and organizational tool, Adobe Photoshop Lightroom. Shiny new features include dodging and burning (nice!!!), a dual-monitor view, and tons of performance stuff. YOu can get a 30-day free trial, though licensed users of Lightroom 1.0 can continue to use the beta until August 31st. Count me in! Download via Adobe Labs, or read about it on Rob Galbraith.

Via Gizmodo, Adobe has just launched ‘Adobe Photoshop Express,’ a free, online version of Photoshop with lots of basic image editing tools along with direct interaction with sites like facebook, Myspace & Picassa, with flickr integration coming real soon.

It’s official, no new 5D, at least not yet. Canon announced the addition of a new Rebel (damn them! I want my 5D!), the XSi. Looks pretty solid sporting a 12.2 Megapixel sensor, Digic 3 and more goodies. Via Gizmodo, Engadget, Rob Galbraith and DPreview. Now the question is where is the new 5D???
Again via Crunchgear , a new rumor stating that Canon is developing a camera to fit in the lineup between the 5D and 1D Mk III with specs such as 15 Megapixels and ISO up to 12,800. Leaked specs for this and the possible 5D replacement listed in the CrunchGear story. Check it out.

Via CruchGear via DPreview forums, a “reliable” source is saying there will be no new 5D announced at PMA. Wow, I really hope this rumor isn’t true.
Via Photography Bay, the Rick Sammons On-Location Lighting kit for around $120 comes fully equipped with a couple reflectors, soft box and some more goodies. Seems like a great way to go if you’re beginning to experiment with lighting.
As you may or may not know, the CameraPorn crew has been eagerly awaiting the announcement for the upcoming Canon 5D Mark II. Back in Mid-December we published a rumor that it would be announced at PMA on or around January 24th. It seems that rumor has been brought back up from other sources today. I was surprised to see this because of all the stocking issues I’ve heard for the new Nikon bodies so I figured I’d spread the word. I’m told the stock is limited, so if you want one anytime soon, I’d say go for it.
