    Why are you selling your D300?

    Dave

    Well, I’m a canon guy :) I bought the D300 in late december to try out nikon and planned on selling it after a few months. A buddy let me borrow a huge kit of nikon lenses to play with and he needs them back soon (http://www.flickr.com/photos/rgmiami/1428364783). The D300 is an amazing camera, the 14-bit color is awesome and I’ve actually kept it longer than anticipated because its such a nice camera… but its time I get back to my canon roots.

    i was about to write the same question as dave, but i agree and understand when you’re a nikon or a canon preferred shooter. they’re both great cameras for their own right, but favoring one or the other and sticking with it is probably the best due to the lens mounting, interface familiarity, etc. ;-)

    Oh man, I just bought that Canon Lense yesterday! It’s gonna be shipped tomorrow and if I didn’t need it for a trip coming up this week, I’d return it for your deal.

    Of course this happens, when I buy electronics, I open up cheap deals for others.

    btw, just found this site last week and I think I’ve read every article on here already.

    Ah! too bad.. Thanks for the kind words about the site!

    Ryan, why are you selling your 30D? Is it because of your recent 5D purchase? I like to use my cropped frame Canon body (XTi) for the zoom lens and the 5D for my wide-angle, that way, no changing lenses all the time… Or do you already have two bodies, and the 30D is your third?

  7. rygood on Sunday 18, 2008

    @rex

    I plan on getting the 5D Mark II when it comes out and using the original 5D I just got as my backup. Full frame all the way!!!

    I hear ya… We’ll be waiting for a while though as the XSi which was “announced” several months ago still isn’t out. So, when they finally announce the 5D Marc II, we may have to sit on pins and needles for a while!

    At least the new iPhone is out in only 1 month!

    What interests me in having a cropped sensor for my zoom lens is the 1.6 multiplication of the zoom. 5D Marc II or 40D for me? Hmmm… I may never decide.

    Good luck selling your 30D.
