By losing the FF (full frame) you lose a LOT. Literally. When you need a full frame, you need a full frame. For landscapes, tight, wide-angle interiors, etc. So, I think the caparison is between the 40D and Rebt XSi since they are both 1.6 crops, but the 40D is only 10MP where the XSi is 12MP, and costs less. Who would buy an expensive 12MP 5D when you can now get a Rebel that costs 1/3rd of the price and all you loose is the FF sensor. Yup, the new rebel even has Spot Metering...
