I’m shooting with a Canon 5D having shot with a Rebel XT and recently purchased the XSI. The 5D is my challenge to teach myself how to take a shot using my own settings and forcing me to think. I’m just learning how to use all the settings that make a person have to think. That said, I tried to get the full moon last night with no luck. I thank you for the mirror lock-up tip. I’ll try that tonight. I’ve never taken lessons before so basically I’m teaching myself the hunt & peck way. So I’ll try the settings you used since tonight is supposed to be a real big full moon. Any other suggestions for night time photography. Thanks for sharing.

Thanks for your tips! They totally saved me right in the middle of trying to capture it:) I won’t know until the AM how I did but at least these instructions gave me a shot. Thanks again!

Yup, sure is. Unfortunately here is Los Angeles we most likely won;t get to see it. Pretty much total cloud cover and rain right now.

As for mirror lockup, what model do you have? I might be able to tell you how to do it.

New Lunar eclipse tonight, so thanks for the tips and hopefully I’ll get some decent shots. Not used mirror lockup before so off to read my manual to see if my Canon can do it.
